Bio

Mr. Blake has been representing a variety of clients (individuals, small businesses and large corporations) since being admitted to the practice of law in 1990. He is admitted to practice before all N.C. state courts, the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Middle Districts of North Carolina. He is also a certified Superior Court Mediator and Industrial Commission Mediator. He has been featured in articles in N.C. Lawyers Weekly for the State’s Largest verdicts and settlements.

Mr. Blake is experienced at alternative dispute resolution (ADR) including mediation and arbitration. As a business and workers’ compensation lawyer, his approach is to try to achieve results for the client through effective negotiation and ADR procedures before going to trial. Mr. Blake is comfortable going to trial if that is the appropriate option as he is resolution oriented. His cases have ranged in size from several thousand to multi million dollar matters. In addition Mr. Blake works on behalf of governmental and corporate clients to advance their agendas.

Long active in local and state affairs Mr. Blake has served as an officer and director on numerous state and local boards. He is active in economic development activities. He also coaches youth football and basketball.

He is married and has two sons.
