Bio

Oliver Gray Rand, one of the firm’s two founding members, was born in Goldsboro, NC on October 26, 1895. He attended the public schools in Smithfield, NC and the University of North Carolina, where he received an undergraduate degree in 1917 and a law degree in 1921. Before entering law school, Rand served as a second lieutenant in World War I and participated in the historic battle of Meuse-Agronne.

Rand practiced in Wilson, joining his friend, William A. Lucas, in 1944 to form Lucas and Rand, the firm now known as Rose Rand Wallace Attorneys, P.A. Throughout his long, distinguished law career, Oliver Rand participated in many of the important civil and criminal trials in Wilson and the surrounding counties. His integrity and ability as a trial lawyer won him the respect of judges, his fellow attorneys and the general public.
